In this introduction to the special issue on the role of information and communication technologies (ICT) in socioeconomic development, we provide a conceptual framework that considers four dimensions that impact socioeconomic development: policy, business, technology, and society. To achieve this, we examined the impact of ICT on Italian education and whether Italy's implementation impacts students' performance. In our special issue, the impact of the technology dimension on the society dimension is illustrated for example by Stal and Paliwoda-Pkosz, who in their paper demonstrate the impact of e-learning on education. Another important direction for further research is the alignment of the ICT adoption process with a country's level of development. With this, most countries aim to deliver lifelong learning efforts to tuck on the various educational areas ranging from technical to vocational education and training. The policy dimension also impacts socioeconomic development directly. The students can work with computers freely and carry out their research (Aristovnik, 2012). Technological Globalization - Examples, Pros and Cons (2017). His research interests include information technology for development, systems analysis and design, and computer-assisted decision-making. This journal aims to examine and establish the contribution that ICT has fostered for Italy's Sustainable Development Goals in education for 2030. The variance analysis (ANOVA) was used to test for the significance of regression results. Schools were randomly selected from 110 schools in Ravenna in which both public and private schools were included in the list for study. Technological globalization can be defined as the increasing speed of technological diffusion across the global economy. pdf. Business culture refers to the collective values and beliefs of business actors that influence the way business is conducted. Governments can now exchange data, research, analysis, and reports with each other on a real-time basis and this has led to increased cooperation between . in their paper in this special issue, understanding of information systems success and evaluating the impact of ICT systems should be done in a wider context, through engagement with all stakeholders. Another weakness may be that it does not explicitly show the relationships between government policy, business culture, and business environment. Buabeng-Andoh (2012) points out that many computers have been deployed in schools and colleges in Italy. We explain the various concepts in our framework within each of these four dimensions. In particular, the authors demonstrate the role of citizenship behavior in the job market. According to the economic base theory (Hoyt, Citation1954; Tiebout, Citation1962), only productive activities improve the economic position of a region, as they generate cash flows from outside of the region (Roberts, Citation2003). For example, motivated by environmental consideration and to reduce air pollution, governments may push sales of electric vehicles while investing in charging infrastructure (Lopez-Behar etal., Citation2019). We then proceed to carry our regression from the scatter plot; our research data could be analyzed using linear statistical methods. Future research, besides substantiating (or refuting) the relationships depicted in our framework, may focus on examining so-far under-investigated links between concepts within our framework, such as relationships between technology-related constructs and societal factors. Another important area for future research is the role of age in ICT implementation and acceptance. The seventh paper, An exploratory study of the determinants of information technology hardware production: a country-level analysis, by Namchul Shin and Jason Dedrick examines the factors that impact hardware production in various countries. As ICT affect everyday lives, they also impact the macroeconomic growth, which in turn further affects society by enabling infrastructure and standard of living improvements. Keywords: Sustainable education; computing for SDG: Education; ICT for sustainable Education; Sustainable Development Goals; Education for All. What is the Role Of ICT? Due to the increasing populations, class sizes are frequently rising, but resourcing these classrooms has remained a challenge. The above result r = 0.921, as seen in the scatter plot, confirms that the data sets (computer performance and general performance) have a strong correlation. Italy has then moved forward and ensured that ICT had been integrated into school management and education curricula (Polizzi, 2011). This is an indication that the implementation of ICT in Italian institutions has improved students' performance. Turkish Online Journal of Educational Technology-TOJET, 10(1), 149-161. All the frameworks seem to agree that the impact of ICT on socioeconomic development is substantial, but the frameworks differ in what they cover and in detail. In particular, the integration of ICT in schools. Role of technology in globalization: 1. Further, the regression from the variance analysis is significant as F computed value is more extensive than its significant F value, as shown in the above table. Population ageing is a global phenomenon that will continue to affect all regions of the world (Harper, Citation2014; Tams, Grover, & Thatcher, Citation2014), and may affect the success and contribution of ICT on socioeconomic development. To better achieve sustainable education, management institutions must have ethics internalized to ensure sustainable development. On the other hand, from our data analysis, we have established a significant correlation between computer performance and general performance (in all subjects) from the ANOVA results. According to Shaikh (2011), most of these countries will be forced to inject tremendous resources into the educational sector to achieve sustainable education for all. Some of the frameworks described above were developed in the context of narrowly defined communities and are useful especially in the understanding of the dynamics in those communities, though some of the causalities likely apply also in a more general setting. Aristovnik et al. According to Fu (2013), appropriate use of ICT would efficiently raise a said people's educational quality.
